2.0 will not record at the right speed at times … I did a session last night were I had everything set properly and Audition recorded it at twice the speed yet it showed it at the right length … I have also had the opposit happen were it was too slow, same install same settings … I can mail you a copy of 1.5 if you would like ………. A couple question about your setup … Are you using a mixing board? What version of Audition are you using? … In most cases all you need to do is on track one of the multi track side you record the voice you want your talent to listen to, once you do this turn off the record mode for that track and put the next track down into record mode … Now just hit the record button and your talent should be able to hear the track while they record the new track …….. I would do any amplification and hard limit first … When you do the noise reduction make sure you sample just the noise so Audition knows what you want to remove … Take it out in small amounts so you don’t get digitizing …………. WILLIE

Go to OPTIONS > MONITORING > AUDITION MIX > SMART INPUT and it should take care of the problem ………. WILLIE

This may be old school, but as far as lining up tracks goes there is only one way for me and that is by finding the same point on each track, expanding the view and then lining up the peaks by simply doing a right click and hold on the track that you want to move and manually moving it till the peaks are aligned … I use the cursor as a reference point …….. WILLIE

Had the same problem when I imported a sessions from 1.5, but yet the mixdown of the session was fine … After I did a mixdown the session played properly … After that I decided to leave 1.5 on my computer and if I needed to work on a session that was created in 1.5 I would just use 1.5 … I haven’t had a pitch problem with sessions created in 2.0 as of yet ……….. The one thing I forgot to ask is if you were using a mixer, sorry … There are a lot of ways to go, you can get 4 channel PCI cards or a firewire unit like this one …

This would take care of all your problems … If you need more tracks then this provides there are other units out there that can fill your needs …….. WILLIE

After you record your track click the record button to off, this will allow you to listen to the track but not record on it … Are you using headphones to listen to the tracks that you are playing against? If not there isn’t much chance of you recording without any bleed through … If you are using headphones make sure you don’t have the volume loud, if you do you will get a minor amount of bleed through … Do you have an external compressor limiter? This will really help with the bleed through … If you have any other questions just post it and I will try and help … The help file in Audition is very useful as well …………….. WILLIE
