Which version are you using? One thing that I see is that if you have each track in the session side set up with a mixer the program does have some lags starting … Your system sounds like it will do just fine … Suggestion, once you have all the tracks equed to your liking you can always do a sub mix and mute the other tracks … Willie

You can mod it but I guess it comes down to using what you are comfortable with … The problem I see with using a video program to edit audio, (depends on your edit of course) is that you don’t get the quality in the finished product that you can by using programs designed for a specific use … Now this is of course coming from a guy who spent years doing audio before crossing over to the dark side and editing video as well … Good talking with you and if you should decide to use Audition in the future please write if you have any questions ……….. I looked at it and there is 2 ways to accomplish what you want … Control > shift > space stops the cursor without sending it back to zero and just hit the space bar to restart, or you could simply use your mouse and click pause to stop and then click it again to start …

Go to EDIT and at the bottom you will see KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS AND MIDI, just click on that and you will be able to set it up as you like …

Simply grab the bottom right corner of the track and move it left .001 … If it isn’t enabled you will have to enable the time strech at the top of the page … This all done on the session side ………………. WILLIE

When you do a mixdown everything gets mixed down ………… willie

Again I am convinced it’s you system config. that is causing your problem ……… WILLIE

After I edit the sequence in Pre Pro I export the audio, then once the audio is edited using Audition, I mixdown, Eq, Hard Limit and save as a PCM Wave file, then import it back into Pre Pro and replace the old audio with the edited wave file … When I export out of Pre Pro I export as an AVI file then transcode in Encore … I still think you have some problems in your system causing your problem ………….
