I sometimes have problems if I have too many tracks with realtime effects on them on the session side, but I never have this problem on the edit side … What kind of soundcard are you running? WILLIE

I can understand where you are coming from … I refuse to use 2.0 just because of issues like this … What soundcard are you using? This is a longshot but there may be a conflex with it … It is hard to troubleshoot a problem like this without being there … You said you did an unistall/reinstall correct? My best guest and that is all it is, is that it’s the software … You don’t have a copy of 1.5 do you? If not E-mail me at loganonestudio@aol.com and I can help you out ……… WILLIE

There have been a lot of “Mystery Problems” associated with 2.0 … In what view does this happen? Does it happen when you are recording, playback or both? If it is when you are recording what external gear do you have hooked up, mixer, mic’s, or any instruments … I will be better able to help if I have as much info as possible … One other thing, do you have your temp drives set to “C” … Like so many other programs you don’t want your temp drives to be on the same drive as your program ……. My best advice is to go back to using 1.5, 2.0 has issues that Adobe has yet to address and with the release of soundbooth I am not sure they are going to … Sorry I wish I had a more possitive answer for you but I don’t …….. WILLIE

Under ideal conditions I am sure that Behringer was able to get the spec’s listed but I wouldn’t count on them for their production units … I haven’t really messed with 5.1 so I really can’t help you there, sorry ……… WILLIE

OK, I have found Behringer’s spec’s to be highly over rated … Let’s face it how can someone put a piece of equipment out for half the price and claim that they have the spec’s that they do … Behringer started off wanting Mackie’s market and talked all this wonderful BS about same spec’s but if you were to pull a unit apart you would find out that they have less parts and are not built with the same quality … I would bite the bullet and go with the Roland’s a company that strives for profection … There isn’t too many sound cards out there that don’t support SPDIF so I think you are good to go …………. This is a simple one … You put one voice on track one the other voice on track two pan track one -100 then pan track two 100 … If you are using the same voice for track one and two you will have to make a cut on either side of the section you want to off set then you will be able to move it on the timeline where you want it … If you have any questions just write back and I will be glad to answer them ……….. When you first install the program you have a page that comes up and it shows you what file extensions Audition will look at … There are defaults but some of them you have to select at that time … I always select the “all” option … I suspect that this is your problem so I would uninstall and reinstall and when this page comes up I would select the all option ……. WILLIE

With Adobe’s apparent lack of interest to correct the problems in 2.0 one has to wonder what is in the future … I will still use 1.5 regardless … What I see is that Adobe purchased Cool Edit with all good intent but soon realized that the program was too much for the target market they wanted to hit with their video editing package … I know one thing for sure I can’t feel enough gratitude for learning audio first … You can shoot the best footage ever but without audio of equal quality you might as well burn the footage … Here on the forum I see that a good number of people are looking for the quick fix, but with audio there isn’t a lot of them and for some reason people just are not willing to put in the time … Hence the coming of soundbooth, a watered down audio program that Adobe will push to increase sales of their video editing package … This comes on the heals of hearing that they just purchased Serious Magic makers of Ultra 2 and DV Rack … It’s pretty apparent that Adobe wants to be the Microsoft of Media Arts technology whether this is a good thing we shall see but for now I have a feeling that Audition as we know it today may get lost in the battle … All I can say at this point is hang onto your copies of 1.5 and for Adobe, STAY AWAY FROM SMARTSOUND … Have a great New Year everyone … WILLIE
