Very simple, first take your exsisting file and place it on track one of the session side … Next right click on track two and do a mixdown of track one now take the mixdown into the edit side go to EFFECTS > AMPLITUDE > CHANNEL MIXER > SWAP CHANNELS … Once you have done this bring in back into the session side and do a mixdown of both tracks … If you go to the channel mixer again go to WIDE STEREO FIELD and experiment to get more of a stereo feel to your clip ….. Audition has had an interesting history and the first releases of the program, (Cool Edit 1.0) had a few difficulties but was still a solid program … At that time ADAT was king and computers hadn’t even reached that magic 500Gig threshold yet … Protools were finding their way into the studio’s along with Cool Edit but for some reason the industry decided that it wasn’t a good program, I am thinking because of the shortcomings the program had at the time, then came 1.2A and in my opinion CE had arrived but too late for the industry Protools was firmly in place in the studio’s … I have been a fan since 1.0 and will most likely always use it … Adobe purchased it about 2 or so years ago and released it as Audition … 3rd party plugin’s work great with Audition … Right now 1.5 is the best and most reliable but 3.0 is due out soon … Adobe has worked hard on correcting all the issues and with luck it will be as solid as 1.5 … Audition VS everything else out there is one of the most user friendly recording software’s on the market … WILLIE

Just go to EFFECTS and ask it to refresh the list and it will find any VST filters on your computer ……… WILLIE

You may have to do a rewire … Go into the options menu and see what devices are listed … If you don’t see your M-audio listed then you will need to do the rewire … If you see it listed make it the default ……… WILLIE

If it were my project I would go with Audition, more user friendly and I feel a much better program to edit with ………. WILLIE

On the edit side highlight JUST THE NOISE then go to EFFECTS > NOISE REDUCTION > NOISE REDUCTION > CAPTURE PROFILE > OK … Now highlight the whole clip and go back to the noise reduction page, it will open with the last setting … You will have to experiment with the percentage amount to be removed since too much will make the audio sound like it was recorded in a rainbarrel … Hope this helps ……. My uses are 90% video anymore but I am so glad that I learned audio before video … It’s a great program for either … Looking forward to V3 myself ……… WILLIE

From my understanding after talking with Adobe earlier this year they have created Soundbooth, a simpler watered down version of Audition for the suite … They decided that Audition was just too much program for most video producers … Audition 3.0 is in the works and from what I have been told they are working hard on cleaning it up so it is as reliable as 1.5 … Here is a link to a series of post between myself and Adobe ………. I am at a loss on this one,in all the years I have been using Audition I have never seen this happen before … Has this ever happened to you before … It is possible to open Audition multiple times on your computer so in the future to avoid this happening again I would have a second program running and start the new recording on it allowing you to save the first recording while recording the new track … As for the lost audio, like I said I don’t know if you can recover it or at least I have never been able to, sorry ……….. Never seen this happen before … Did you stop the recording of track 2 at 34 min or did it keep recording until you were able to get back to it? I am sure you did this but I still need to ask, did you recheck the audio you do have on track one as being what you originally recorded? Have you closed out and saved this session? If you have closed out and saved I don’t know of a way to recover the lost audio …….. WILLIE
