Interesting… not only did I just do a search for GeForce 5700 cards over the past 2 months & only this current thread come up, but I’m using a PNY GeForce FX 5700VE with no problems at all. That’s why I was curious to what problems the original poster was having.

it might help if you describe the problem you’re having. Just saying “I’m having problems on playback” leaves it kind of wide open… don’t you think?

I don’t think this monitor has a blue only mode… unless it’s accessable thru a menu. There’s certainly no blue only switch on the front panel. I’d research before making a purchase 🙂

I forgot to ask… what mixed results are you getting from Boris?

in Boris, go to edit/preferences & the “local project” tab. always make sure “better quality field rendering” (no aliasing) is selected… also if you have flicker probs, select 1:2:1 deflickering as well. I’m not sure about other versions of Boris products but in mine (RedGL 3.0.1), even though it says in that tab “values set here will be the default for all new settings”, the only one that “sticks” is the better quality field rendering setting… so I always make sure 1:2:1 deflickering, etc. is set before I export, OR apply if using as a AVX plugin in Avid.

Christopher… I suggested Boris to you in your original post. Did you not even try it at least? It IS possible to get clean results using that app.

Christopher, again… you should at least already have Boris FX since it’s come bundled with XDV since the dark ages 😀 nothing more to buy & it works well with the right settings, etc.

not really in Avid itself, but BCC has a couple of filters that does this. Motion blur & Temporal Blur
