So, I’m doing some logo work–basically some simple animations, movement–and anything with a light or more aptly white edge looks terrible. basically, flickering or vibrating almost as if it’s shifting fields or something. I’m trying to do this on an AVID Xpress DV version 3.5.4. using Boris Continuum Complete. Any advice out there that will help make things look better?

    Thanks to all.

Upgrade to Xpress Pro. Get Mojo. Do titles in 1:1. This will cost you over $2000 and will require that you upgrade your computer, or at the very least update WinXP to Service Pack 2.

Try deleting your user settings and recreating new ones. Cheapest and easiest.

Try uninstalling/reinstalling your XDV 3.5/BCC software. Still cheap, but more work.

Hope someone else offers another suggestion besides mine, in case mine don’t fix the problem. 🙂

I can’t imagine it being as horrible as described. can you post a link?

if you have it, try BorisRed to do this. Or at the very least BorisFX that you should have with your XDV purchase.

I’ll try and post a link later today. It’s pretty bad. I figured out a way to do some cosmetic work arounds, but they only cover up the problem. Unfortunately, I only have Boris Continuum, my company’s cheap.

Thanks, oakmozart…for your suggestions. I’ve been pushing for a Mojo/Xpress Pro upgrade, but it’s not happening right now. I’ll try some of your other ideas, and see what happens.

Christopher, again… you should at least already have Boris FX since it’s come bundled with XDV since the dark ages 😀 nothing more to buy & it works well with the right settings, etc.

Thanks, again. Boris FX was apparently never installed, can u believe that??? I’m taking over someone else’s rig at my new job, and the edit suite is GHETTO. Anyway, I’m gonna install Boris FX now, and I’ll play with that. By the way, what are “the right settings?”
