It’s already happened. The “upgrade” is the XF300/305

maybe your reader is usb 1.0 and not 2.0?

  • I’m going to assume the obvious based on “I can’t really zoom in other than slightly or the picture will be completely blurred” , but perhaps it’s set for manual focus (or a macro setting like Todd said) and you think it’s supposed to be in auto focus? If not, there could be a backfocus issue that I believe is not user adjustable on the GL1.

If I were you (& had the time to do so) I’d just make dupes of the problematic tapes in 48k, capture & be done with it 🙂

I’m assuming the XL1 has this, but are you sure you didn’t accidentally hit the (stupidly placed) standby switch?

Any HDV deck at all should be able to play back standard 1080i HDV from Canon’s cameras. It’s Canon’s frame modes (24f, 30f) that need a helping hand. And you’re right, the Sony M35U will play back Canon’s frame modes, and unless I’m mistaken the M15AU will as well. I’ve seen several references regarding it on another forum.

Happy to hear you “figured it out”. However, it’s common courtesy to explain what you did so others who may be have the same question as you can remedy their situation as well.

All XH series cams use the BP-9xx series batts. Not sure about your bag, but doesn’t seem to be a good fit. There’s plenty of other bags/cases to fit the XH A1s.
