Sorry for your loss. Happy for your gain. Will this hinder or help your new ladders, goals and dreams philosophy?

Avid Adrenaline HDs have the capability to add edits on a Metatrack, which can be useful as information you convey to your DVD authoring person. I asked Avid if the Metatracks can be used as drag-drop locations for the .ccs files you can get emailed to you when you send out for captioning, but alas no. Not yet anyway. Only thing Avids can handle with captioning at this point is to accept existing captioning on line 21 and spit it back out again, but no creation or editing of it.

Think of it though… do you really want the Captioning Intern typing away on your Avid? Just think of the pop-ups from the PSP sites he’d be visiting when you walked out of the room!

[Steven L. Gotz] “And here I thought that mealtime was for rendering!”

Not too much anymore. With faster processing, you’re lucky to get a smokebreak in before the render is done.

Remember the good ‘ol days when one second = one frame rendered?

[Mark Suszko] “12-plus hours at a stretch in the suite”

Usually after hour nine, my stomache’s eyeing up the paint chips in the corner.

I love it when we get the budget to online at Post Central in Rochester, NY. The editors can’t figure out black levels to save their lives, but they have one hell of an on-sight chef, and full kitchen. Never enjoyed working through lunch that much!

And those instant coffee makers that are wired into the 160-degree water tap… uuuuoooooaahhh that’s goooouuuud…

  • Loss of concentration? In Bucharest? Must be all them Romanian chicks! Only reason Walter Murch could concentrate in Romania was cuz he had Nicole to stare at for eight months.

June 29, 2005 at 12:49 pm in reply to: 24p and the Adrenaline

24p Advanced worked, but regular 24p won’t work with my version 2.0.2 of the Adrenaline software. I’m told it will work when I upgrade to 2.1.5 (today’s agenda).

    Thanks for the help!

    [MichaelP]
“Are you coming in over the FireWire connection, SDI, or analog?
    Analog. I should be FireWire, shouldn’t I?

Was it shot with ADVANCED or NORNAL pulldown?
    Not sure. What’s the difference?

What resoluition are you capturing at?
DV (I think it’s listed as DV25/411?)…anything higher would be a waste, wouldn’t it?

Are these tapes the original masters or dubs?
    Originals

Are you capturing from a deck or from the camera?
    Deck

Make sure you are in a 23.976p project for starters. “
Is that like a 24p drop frame mode?

Thanks so much for the help!

quick cheat if you got a relatively new version of photoshop on yer system too:

    1. export a frame of your background
    2. open it in photoshop
    3. roughly type out your text
    4. click in the character window and scroll down through fonts

man, i really hope avid gets this feature soon
