If you’ve already tried this please forgive me, but on the issue of resizing individual parts of a text element, you can’t do this by selecting part of the text in the Inspector, you have to select part of the text in the Canvas.

Regarding glitches in your exports, I have had similar issues, but they have all been solved by exporting with quality set to “Normal” rather than “Best”. I know… you always want the best quality, but I haven’t yet been disappointed with “Normal”.

Of course, Motion has a lot of other problems in my opinion, but I still love it.

  • Wow, the Hex Edit suggestion above just totally saved my A$$ with a FCP Project that had been uploaded to an FTP months ago, and inadvertently deleted EVERYWHERE ELSE.

    Excellent.

  • There are probably a hundred “pebbles in the shoe”, and there have been several threads that attempted to solicit/compile them all. Don’t hold your breath for a “fix” though… The software is really, really good, but it could be really, really better.

There is another possible factor contributing to your problem. I’ll bet that you are watching your DVD play back from a software player in full-screen mode. This takes your measly 720 pixel wide video (you can’t do anything about the size, it is what it is) and blows it up to whatever screen resolution you have, which, if it’s a good size monitor, is a HUGE amount of blow-up, complete with a HUGE amount of aliasing. Your software DVD player should have the option to play the video in its native size, where it will look worlds better, albeit very small, but it should NEVER look clean in full screen (on a computer).

Apologies if you already knew all of this,

I don’t have FXPlug installed, and thus have not had this problem, but I just wanted to say that you and others like yourself on this forum are heroes.

    Thank you!!

This will be a big deal for me:
Opening a Nested Sequence Displays the Playhead in the Expected Position

Now if they would just PLEASE make nested sequences and subclips retain their handles!!!!!

In my experience, multiple times, when I copy footage from a 29.97 timeline and paste it into a 23.98 timeline, ANY clip that I’ve changed the speed of or reversed will be incorrect by a HUGE amount in the new timeline. I’m talking minutes or more off, without a discernable offset that I’ve seen.

I can support the above rant. Motion 2 had its share of bugs. Motion 3 seems to have fixed most of them, but is riddled with little bugs of its own. I suspect it would be impossible to bug proof complex software before its release though.
