Let me put the question in another way. If I import “part 1” in .vf file, I manage to get the “part 2” .mpg file, but I don’t find the .ac3 file. If I import the “part 2” .vf file, it “replaces” the “part 1 .vf” file. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Thank you.

Thanks Edward. To import, VMS says “no device found”. I then import from camera through “import software” that came with camera. I then import via project manager from “my documents”.

Douglas, thanks for yur reply. I do have vegas 8 platinum. I watched your dvd supplied with platinum 7. Problem: if I go to “capture video”, I get “device nor available”. It downloads to “import media files” that comes with camera software. Then, when editing, the “edited version” comes as a “.vf” file. This appears in explorer, but I can’t open it in media files. Please let me know if I should direct these basic questions to the “vegas basic forum”.
