I checked my project properties and yeah my pixel format is “32 bit floating point full range.”
I think this is where your problem lies. Looking at your second screenshot with the corrections applied, I see that you are using ACES RRT (sRGB), which I have never used. Suggest you change your project settings back to 8bit and see if your colors appear correctly. Perhaps someone else who is familiar with 32bit could answer this in a definitive fashion.

July 30, 2015 at 11:08 pm in reply to: Color Correction Problem Can’t Go Back to Original ColorsThere doesn’t seem to be anything on his video output bus since the Fx symbol next to the split screen icon is grayed out. One last suggestion. Can you upload a short clip? I’m sure a number of us would be happy to take a look since this is such a perplexing problem and a bit of a mystery.

One last shot since you’ve used these clips before. Select the event, right click and then select Media Fx. Are the color correction Fx added there by chance? You shouldn’t have to apply other Fx to attempt a correction.

Perhaps it is in vegas since before is possible trim events directly in the timeline.
You’re probably right, but quite frankly, I don’t know. I’ve never used the trimmer for basic cuts editing, always the timeline. It is useful in that you can double-click on a file (have to set this in preferences) in explorer and it will open in trimmer allowing you to see exactly what’s in the file without dragging it to the timeline. Oftentimes a file name or even a thumbnail is insufficient. There is another useful feature in that you can add a marker or region in the trimmer and it will “stay” with that media file, unlike markers on the timeline which can easily change positions unless auto-ripple is enabled which I feel is pretty risky. For me at least, I don’t use it very much, but I’m sure others will have differing opinions.

The blur you see in the hand movements is most likely due to low frame rates somewhere in the process. It’s like the judder that you see when panning rapidly with a low frame rate. Either filming at 24P or 30P, or filming at 60i or 60P and then rendering to 24P or 30P. In any case you need to be more specific in terms of your video size/frame rates, project settings, and render settings.

Here’s a thread you might be interested in reading. Tells how to do it in QT Pro.
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/1088501
Since I have QT Pro, I tried it with some ProRes 422 footage produced by Mercalli and it does work, although it is very slow, like one poster mentioned. It seems to be simply re-rendering and the resulting file is no longer ProRes according to MediaInfo. Maybe, I did it wrong. Of some interest, according to MediaInfo, the writing library for the ProRes file produced by Mercalli is “fmpg” which I would guess is FFmpeg. After all, you’re not doing a ProRes render, but simply changing the audio track.

July 29, 2015 at 2:32 am in reply to: Color Correction Problem Can’t Go Back to Original ColorsHow about the possibility of a track effect as John first suggested? It has the same shape as an event effect. On your photo, the the Video Fx window covers it.

July 28, 2015 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Color Correction Problem Can’t Go Back to Original ColorsI wish I can show you a picture of what my screen looks like.
Very easy to do. There are lots of screen capture freeware available–I use Screenshot Captor. Simply copy the part of the screen or all of it, save as a PNG or JPG, and upload.

[Mark van der Berg] “I tend to lean towards the GT 740M, since I think that’s my dedicated graphics card and the other one is for the screen, but if one is objectively better than the other please tell me!”
My system uses both the HD4000 from my i7 3770K processor and an Nvidia 650. I’ve done tests in the past and the Nvidia came out on top in terms of preview performance with GPU selected. (Results are posted on the Vegas Pro forum). Renders were also quicker because of the effects processing. The advantage of having both video cards is that you can then select Quick sync for much faster renders from the Vegas timeline although they are limited to 720P (For whatever reason, 1080P renders are broken in Vegas using QS.) Sadly, you cannot render with QS from Vegas unless one of your displays is driven by the Intel adapter, unlike other encoders, hence the use of both display adapters.

I get up to go to the bathroom and when I come back they’re gone
If that’s your problem, then just don’t go to the bathroom! LOL. I don’t use the trimmer very often, but it seems to be working fine for me. If I create a region with a name, it will show up as media regions if you place that media file on the timeline. In Preferences under the General tab, the last item is “Automatically save trimmer markers…….”. It seems to be unchecked by default. You might check that item and see if it makes a difference. Sorry, I see that you’ve already done this.

BTW, in order to see them on the timeline, you need to have “Show Markers” selected. Ctrl-Shift-k.
