By “locked”, I presume that you want to keep the the audio and video “grouped”, so that if you click on the video and drag, the audio will stay with the video? If this is what you mean, there is a simple script that will do this written by Giles Pialat quite a few yeas ago. If this is what you mean let me know and I’ll post it along with some instructions.

Simply add it to the following folder: C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 17.0\Script Menu. If Vegas is open, make sure that you Rescan the Script Menu Folder. (Tools|Scripting|Rescan Script Menu Folder).

There’s a MediaFinder tool in HappyOtterScripts that will probably do what you want. It can be used for either replacing media or searching for new media which presumably is what you need. Here is a screengrab.

o KwikPreview- Similar to RAM preview (Shift-B) except saved to disk with same choice of render quality options
- Choice of preview size with option for half frame rate rendering

- External preview using MediaPlayerClassic with choice of shaders to simulate levels conversions
o MediaRenamer Extension
- Bulk rename of media files from the Project Media Window
- Renaming rules similar to those found in other external renaming apps
- Options to select media from media bins or timeline events plus an Undo option
o DeshakerRedux – a dedicated deshaker app with additional features not previously available
- Turbo option for Pass 1 motion analysis (roughly 2X for HD and 6X for UHD)
- GUI for creating masks to include/exclude areas to be analyzed during Pass 1 motion analysis
- Dedicated deshaker log files to support batch Pass 1 and/or Pass2 processing.
- Option to add head/tail time for events to eliminate “bobble” often seen in first few frames
- Select VirtualDub filters can now be directly added through advanced options dialog
- New crop-resizing GUI

The major change is the integration of the new DebugMode FrameServer build 3.0 into HOS. Other changes include:
o AudioTrim—added track render option plus options to bypass event gain, envelopes, and pan settings
o VideoSmartTrim—support for subclips added
o RenderEvents—added checks to insure that video exists in the selected tracks for region and project renders

Only one new feature has been added. All dialogs are now scalable with a selection of three font sizes from the title bar. Additionally, the default font size may also be changed from inside the Theme Designer.

A new tool has been added–FrameFixer
Some of its features include:
o Optical scene detection optimized for both video and still frame sequences
o Bad frame detection including black frames, flash frames, and duplicate frames
o Bad frame replacement with interpolated frames using optical flow techniques
o Replacement of multiple adjacent bad frames
