This is what I found. I brought in the Panny for a color correction session and found it to veer toward the green. I demoed the JVC and was blown away. No comparison, much better than the Panny 26″ IMHO.

What issues are you guys having in what programs rendering? I have the previous generation 8-Core 3.0 GHz Mac Pro with 16GB of Ram and so far I’ve been trouble free… Well of course I just cursed myself, didn’t I?

Plenty of problems here too on the Mac version with buttons and highlights. Look great in preview mode but always off by the about the point size of the font when burned to disc.

The only real problem I have with Encore is it is buggy as hell. If you make a menu and have a play button, when you choose a color for an active state– say yellow for selected and red for activated, the preview looks great. When you burn the disc and play it back on a player, the color highlight is off by about the point size of the font. Every time. I’ve resorted to making my menus in PhotoShop including the highlight masks and this seems to work.
So much easier in DVDSP. Buy BD-REs for testing.

No. DVDSP doesn’t support Blu-Ray. I use Encore DVD on the Mac.

Toast 9 works here for burning Blu-Ray disc images.

Are you trying to insert editing using the insert edit button in the master to tape window? if so that is the bug. Drag the sequence to the insert edit window instead.

As for the 16CH of audio, isn’t that the spec for HD? So even if you only send audio to ch 1&2 you still get 3-16 to boot.
I’ve always noticed the anamorphic problem in QT even back in Tiger. I’d open an anamorphic QT in QT and it would be 4×3 squeezed. FCP would display properly. Only work around in QT is the hold the shift key and drag the bottom right corner to the proper aspect ratio.

I’ve edited two projects in 10.5.2 on a Mac Pro 8-Core 3.0 GHz and a Kona 3 card without a hiccup.
