GigaE is fast enough. There is a bug in multi-cam that would keep reporting dropped frames after every edit. If you checked, “don’t warn again” or what ever the dialogue box said when it came up about dropped frames, the problem went away. Bob Zelin recently set up my 10 GigE and it is blazing fast and more bang for the buck!

ProRes422 using “RGBto5D Batch” or the free RGBto5D is my recommendation. They are available in the App store. The Batch version is a paid version but it lets you batch the files instead of doing one a time.

You are not just deleting the clip you are rippling the timeline. I delete all the time and the media just gets removed from the time line. Nothing ever shifts.

Ben,
You can try denoise, but this will soften the picture over all. The best thing to do when possible is to expose like slide film, light for the shadows and don’t clip the highlights. You can always make it look darker in color correction. A few more lights on set is always a good thing.
