I’ve never done this or seen it done, but B4 lenses are more geared to â…”” chip cameras. A much smaller sensor than an APS-C sized sensor, so yes you are going to get vignetting. I’d imagine it will be multiplied with a teleconverter.

The reality is big budget editors and the A.C.E. are behind Avid. At that level, it doesn’t matter what the integration is with AE or other Adobe programs is because editors on studio pictures aren’t doing the compositing and sound mix and color correction, etc. They cut with multiple assistance, lock picture, send selects to VFX and that’s the process. The AEs prep for the OMF or AAF export, VFX etc. Editors just cut.

I keep saying that to the producer but he insists two other people watched it with blu-ray players straight into the TV and have the same problem. I played it for him with a blu-ray player into my color grading monitor and RCA outs from the player to my Mackie mixer and it sounded fine in stereo, so I agree must be on their end, but still just checking.

I think it has a lot to do with how fine they are. Fine lines create moiré, what you are seeing. If you use a macro lens and shoot them really close so they are big in frame does the same thing happen? My guess would be it wouldn’t. It’s the same issue you get when you film someone with a herring bone pattern on their jacket.

That being said, it depends what you want to accomplish. The 5D Mark III, which I use, has a shallower depth of field. The 7D is similar in size to a super 35mm sensor (film frame), the 5D is like VistaVision.
As for glass, EF L series are much better than the EF-s, but they also cost more, but you can find used. CF cards are faster at the moment and hardier. But this can change in the future. Also the 5D has two slots, an SD and CF slot. You can install Magic Lantern on the SD card and shoot RAW 14bit to the CF card.
