If these are mlv Magiclantern RAW files use RawMagic available in the App store. Easiest way to covert to cinemaDNG. No command line. I do this all the time. Once I have them converted as a file sequence in a folder the same name as the MLV file, I bring into Resolve and do a quick grade/balance and batch export to ProRes.
At the end you can go back to the DNG files for a final color grade.

AJA Kona 4 which I use, does not accelerate the software. I use it to monitor broadcast accurate output as well as the occasion need to digitize from tape media.
The output to my HD broadcast monitor is real time with no lag.

I’ve been using AJA forever. They have the best tech support and customer service I’ve ever seen. The only downside is it doesn’t work with Davinci Resolve. If you don’t need or use Resolve, I’d go with AJA over Blackmagic as they make a superior capture card and have support you can always reach by phone.
BM is cheaper but you do get what you pay for in hardware– if it breaks, they will expect you to buy a new one.

Use export using Quicktime conversion, then select still image not image sequence.
FCPX also has an export still image setting. It’s not in the share menu by default. You have to add it. I know in DCP 7 you can set duration of still images. I’d image you can in FCPX too.

Use export still image. You might have to add it to share pref pane as I think it is not a choice by default.
