Pretty much everything you just said, I’ve already done and explained that in the original post. I did the “interpret footage” thing already. But here is what the problem is, I’m using dynamic link, so it’s not as easy as just dropping the clip in after effects, I come from premiere pro and choose “replace with after effects composition” and it opens AE AND creates a comp for me. I then go into the side panel and go to interpret footage” menu. So I guess my question is “Are you then asking me to after going to “interpret footage”, to then REOPEN and the drag the footage again?

Yeah I put a texture (well a color) on it before even going into BP. Then going into body paint, the wizard makes the material grey. But if I try to just draw on it, even after clicking all the pencil icons to make the material active for painting it won’t let me. The thing I’m trying to accomplish is just doing the coloring in the standard view and making sure it will be transferred over to BP so I can draw on the color.

Here, I uploaded a video of what its doing but I wanna clarify something first.
I know the footage was shot fast and crappy but, even with other footage, that isn’t so bad and moves so rapidly, it does the same thing.
The text shifts as the footage moves.
