Make Sure you select the layer not the mask while moving the Vertices.

For starters, Allbetsareoff tutorials are good to understand basic things. One can start learning all tutorials from the starting.
Aharon Rabinowitz has explained many basic effects pretty well.Vishesh Arora

For creating that Glow in the the Sky, Make a Yellow (or any other color)solid and make an Elliptical Mask on it. Now feather it to 300 to 400 % so that there is no hard edge.
Put this solid layer above your cloud layers and then then apply GLOW Effect to it.For making clouds there are many ways. You can create realistic clouds in 3D application like Maya which has inbuilt presets for it.
Also Video copilot has Real Clouds Footage Collection which you can use:
https://www.videocopilot.net/products/realclouds/
You can create clouds like this using Trapcode Particular too.
Here is a tutorial for creating clouds using particular:

“I would like to create an effect like a paper is following a person.”
The effect you want to create is not clear. Have you seen this kind of effect before? If yes, then upload any link which will help us to understand what exactly you want to create.

May be this is because the font you have used in your PC is not available in the studio computer.
Check which font you have used at home and install that font in you studio computer.
After Effects looks in a couple of places for fonts, including (on Mac OS) Library/Application Support/Adobe/Fonts .
Be sure that no applications are running when you install your fonts.

It is very easy to do this kind of stuff. No need to learn any expression.
Just use pick whip to create an automatic expression which will work.
Pick-whip the Color property of Color Overlay style in your ground layer and attach it to the Color property of Color Overlay of wall layer.
Here is something I have done for you to understand how it works:
