Vista gives you a dual boot option all by itself. I’m running Vista 64 Ultimate alongside of XP Pro while I ensure all of my essential editing apps will run in Vista 64, which BTW, everything works so far except for Ultimate S 4 won’t run in Vegas 8.1. I’ve installed the 32 bit version of Vegas also, so that’s not a major problem for now.
I’m about to install QTPro in Vista 64, so I’ll be going down the same path you took with that. Thanks for the info on it.

Ok, so the rendered AE avi shows none of the moire effect, but once it’s in Vegas it shows up, both in the preview and with the completed render…not sure where to go from here. I’ve even used the despeckle filter on the original scans in PShop.

So rescanning with an antimoire filter would be the way to handle it? BTW, the wmv is only 2.68mb, but I understand if you don’t have the time to dl it. Thanks, Spot.

March 15, 2008 at 2:44 pm in reply to: gradient banding on ae avi imported into Vegas…

Figured this one out on my own–the invitations I had scanned was textured with horizontal lines which caused the banding with any motion. Still not sure why it shows up in Vegas but not in the rendered AE avi…but I just filled the striated parts of the graphic with solid color and that took care of it. Should have suspected that was the problem but it was early in the morning.
