Imported a basic ae rendered avi into Vegas Pro 8 and am having a heck of a time figuring out how to get rid of a flickering problem whenever the animation pauses in movement. Have done the same basic thing (invitation opening) many times before and haven’t had any problems until now. Used hi res scans in the animation. Any help would be appreciated.

I didn’t download the stream, it’s too large.
However, it sounds like you’re suffering from moire.

So rescanning with an antimoire filter would be the way to handle it? BTW, the wmv is only 2.68mb, but I understand if you don’t have the time to dl it. Thanks, Spot.

Ok, so the rendered AE avi shows none of the moire effect, but once it’s in Vegas it shows up, both in the preview and with the completed render…not sure where to go from here. I’ve even used the despeckle filter on the original scans in PShop.

Just figured it out–I was time stretching the footage in Vegas…

Speaking about “time stretching”, holding down CTL and dragging your clip left or right. How do you return it to normal?

[Craig Cooper] “Speaking about “time stretching”, holding down CTL and dragging your clip left or right. How do you return it to normal?”

If you hold down CTRL and drag it in the other direction, it will have a slight “snap” at the 100% mark. Also, if you are viewing the active take information, the percentage shows up on the audio track.

You can also right-click the clip, go to Properties, and then reset the “Playback Rate” to 100%. After you do this, you’ll need to resize the clip to the proper length.

Scripting is another means of performing this task. Scripting can reset the playback rate AND adjust the length to match the new speed.
