Hi Gareth,

I’ve seen this happen randomly with certain non-square sequences / footage combinations. I have not seen it happen in CS6.

The solution is to copy and paste your edit into a square pixel sequence.

Hi Patrick,

I haven’ t used that particular filter in years, but I would advise against any automatic settings, they can easily be put off track by another plug in, or noise, etc. It was the case for auto levels.

As an alternative, try the three way color corrector, you’ll find shadow/highlights and many more settings.

I suspect some of the more more obsolete filters in Premiere rarely get much attention these days.

Create a new 16×9 sequence, drag the 4×3 sequence into it, resize and export.

Was anything typed in the project panel search window? Sometimes, even a space will cause that.

Could you verify that both your sequence and nested sequence have the same settings?

Also, you didn’t mention your program window settings, half or full resolution.

Also another quick tip, it may be worth looking into converting some of your old DVDs into ISO images and keeping them on a drive. A lot less frustrating than going through an endless array of DVDs everytime.

Hi Perry,

Reinstalling software is never is a bad thing, and we do it every year. It’s especially important on a PC running editing software where things need to be stable.

While you might be able to take the old drive to the new system, the odds of things working out aren’t very good. You can’t transfer software without reinstalling.

I mean, you can always use an SSD just for the OS, in fact it will make things a lot snapier.

As for cache, I would keep it on a separate RAID array anyway, and yes, RAID 0 is the way to go, and it’ s cheap.

Hi Donald,

One minor thing, cheap SSDs have limited amount of writes, that’s why they are cheap… and the cheaper they are, well you get the picture…

They work well as OS, but for continuous writing, Enterprise grade drives are the way to go.
