This may be an issue with Red alone. Premiere will usually re-link all files based on the first selected, even if they are on a different drive.

Once you have your H.264 file encoded, you can use tsMuxer to wrap into a Mpeg2 Transport Stream.

Like Chris said, not much you can do in post. With the EQ, you can drop frequencies around 2-3k, that should help a bit. If it was really bad, you could use a soft gate, but I can’t see that doing much here.
As far as avoiding it in the first place: If you can’t rent a sound stage, you will need to surround the talent with either packing blankets, or use velour drape. We made our own using thick velour fabric and a few sets of background support kits. It’s always a big job, but there’s no free lunch here.
As far as mic placement, you just have to improvise every time and pick the best spot, pointing down or up with a shotgun.
Lavs usually have slightly less reverb since they are closer.

Hi Carlos,
What OnLocation has to do in realtime to show that HDV footage is very intense processing wise.
Remember that HDV does not contain full frames, only changed pixels from the previous frame, so OnLocation has to recreate these in realtime, in addition to possibly record to a drive, etc.
On i7 laptop maybe be able to do better, but HDV is really tough in that domain.
Your best option would be to go to a better format such as DVC PROHD, and possibly newer hardware.

Hi Ryan,
Not sure where that bug is coming from. One solution I can think of is doing a render a replace to either Audition or Soundbooth, either for each clip, or all together at once.
Make sure you save a copy aside with existing audio before you do that.

I’ve seen this before, although not on my end. I think it might be due to a conflict between the new H.264 implementation in CS6 and Youtube. Do you have an option to render to Prores, or WMV? Problem should go away until someone figures it out.

Sorry, understood your post as a Mountain Lion update. No need for a clean install of an Adobe update.
Have you tried tried to just run your external display through DVI on a new sequence instead of BM, to see if problems go away? Are you running SDI, HDMI out?

Hi Phil,
Was this a clean install? If not, that could be an issue. We always do a clean install using Carbon Copy Cloner and a USB drive, now that install DVDs are hard to find.
Also, BlackMagic… Editing became fun again once we got rid of our Decklinks.
