Recently I have been copying segments between different projects I work on to speed up my editing. Along with the segments I copy the files from the bin folder from the old project and put them into the new project. During my editing I see no problems with the inserted segments and all copied audio appears to be there. However in the final render some (seemingly at random) of the audio segments end up not playing in the final render.

This isn’t a big issue as I can obviously recreate these edits in the new project from scratch, import the audio and graphic files, etc. But I would like to save time if possible.

Just curious if anyone was aware of this problem, or maybe know of any quick fixes that might allow me to keep copying between projects without fear of accidental audio loss.

    Thanks,
    – Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

Not sure where that bug is coming from. One solution I can think of is doing a render a replace to either Audition or Soundbooth, either for each clip, or all together at once.

Make sure you save a copy aside with existing audio before you do that.

    Thanks!

I have been experimenting with the extract audio option and can see a lot of uses for it. It was a nice discovery.

    I appreciate the tip!
