Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that I posted in After Effect. I dod After effect though and I just saw that ‘Offset’ exist in Premiere under the video effect bin called ‘Distort’. Do you mind explaining to me how to achieve the desired effect?

I’ve read a lot since our last discussion and I’ve read one comment from someone who seems knowledgeable (whatever that means in this field):
‘even a high-quality H.264 is still pretty compressed and pretty low-quality compared to ProRes’. And it brought me back to square one, asking myself if I shouldn’t convert all my files into ProRes ones before editing?
Does it make sense and if not why?
Again the idea is too keep as much quality possible and I have to say that when I had to color correct some DSLR files I was surprised how little room I had. Nothing hold and the picture become terrible very quickly if you apply to much correction. Do you think I could get more latitude with a ProRes format?

I’m very grateful for the quick reply. The editor I talked to told me that she only use ProRess and that there is no way one can edit in H 264 this is why i try to understand what settings/codecs to use with Premiere CS6. The original files (with some exception shot with the Black Magic Cinema Camera) come from a Canon 5DIII and are Quicktime file in 1920×1080. I am just not sure which settings to use to start this project with these files.By screenable I mean Theater projection. This is just to anticipate if the best scenario happens and I’m asked to do a DCP down the road. I don’t want to make mistakes at the start which I won’t be able to fix later on.
PS: The editor I mentioned is pro: she was second assistant editor on The Pianist, and first editor on a lot of features. But since she works with Final Cut and lives in France it’s hard for her to gives me accurate advises. That’s when I really need yours! Please let me know what settings I should use.
