  • Yes. It apparently is being encoded correctly, but playing back the file on the nle system shows the channel mappings on the system are incorrect, or at least not consistent with vegas.

    I have a lynx2 audio card connected via analog out to a Yamaha 6 channel amp.

    Apparently the WMA channel mapping is messed up on my NLE system. Using the test WMA file supplied by MS, the center comes from the right suuround and the left surround comes from the subwoofer channel. Another system I have is correct.

    OK, my first problem was cured by combining my 2 channel (both channels with identical signals, though) into a mono signal.

    I was able to create an AC3 file that faithfully represents the surround automation.

    However, I cannot get the same automation process to work correctly when trying to author a wma pro 5.1 file. I really need to author the video in HD 720P and need the 5.1 audio track to accompany the HD video.

    Right now, it’s either low res DVD with good 5.1 audio or HD with no 5.1 audio.

    Can anyone point me in the correct direction, please?
