October 28, 2008 at 7:56 am in reply to: Sequence render takes too long

well, i am using ScreenFlow. anyway- solved the problem by adjusting the settings.

    another question –

lets say i have a screen capture of a 1000 by 800 pix. now, i want to edit and export it as a 800 by 600 (the dimensions the client gave me) but i don’t want the footage to look squeezed.

do i have to import it into a sequence1000 by 800 pix (the original size – for real time preview), edit it and then nest it in a new sequence 800 by 600 for the final render?

if i do that i get no preview in the final render sequence and will have to render it so i can view it.

    did i get it right?

thanks again for all the helpers.

    Hi Thanks for the help.

    i thinks it worked.

another one question. if i want to export to H.264 for the web. would you do it via FCP or compressor?
saw you web site. looks cool. what compression did you use for the video there?

    thanks again.

October 23, 2008 at 2:49 pm in reply to: Pr CS4 – screen capture edit

    Hi Eddie,
    thanks for the fast respond.

    this is the situation:

i recorded a screen capture clip with Sbapz Pro (but the same also happened with ScreenFlow) and save the clip to QT animation.

then i opened up premiere and edited the video in a sequence. i then exported the video to the media encoder and encoded it with the same settings – QT animation.
    the sequence settings were –
    Pixals aspect ration – square
    Progressive scan
the same FPS as the recording
the same audio settings as the recording
    video preview – QT animation

when i sent to the media encoder and renderd it with the same settings:
    Pixals aspect ration – square
    Progressive scan
the same FPS as the recording
the same audio settings as the recording
    QT animation
i got horrible looking video. this does not happen with CS3 or cs2 and in-fact the same video rendered out as AVI with no compression has no problem

(needless to say i tried to render to QT with None chosen under Codec. this doesn’t work either.)

i have to admit i am new to Mac.

is there a way to render from Pr CS4 in the same fashion as in Pr CS3 – file>export>movie.
i never used the media encoder in the past but it looks like there is no other option in CS4.

    thanks for the help.

    OK got it.

how do i split the 2 channels and then recombin them. i am using After effects for compositing but any instructions on any other program would help too.

    another thing-

would i be better off shooting the whole thing SD? (the clients wants it posted on the Net at the end)

    thanks again!!

    thanks,

so just to see if i get you right –

you say i should shoot in HDV and capture directly to the computer via SDI card?

    thanks again.
