I bought an old version on Ebay with the v7 upgrade when it first came out. I did have to talk to Adobe to get the registration numbers to work correctly due to the age of the first disk, but they okayed it without a hitch. So the bottom line is, it all depends on the person you’re dealing with and if THEY are legit.

Thanks for the replies. I didn’t consider the menu lag time. Using DVDA doesn’t look practical for this as I had hoped.

I’m certainly glad that you’re not a snide person. If you really want to know the Simspon’s episode I referred to in my last post, I will look it up for you. It was my first post and not the last that hurt your feelings. Nothing I wrote was done with the intent to berate. I was making a valid point. We both have high regards for the “Cow”, so if you want to play the “I’m holier than thou AND humbler” game, send it here – unzarjones@hotmail.com

I’m testing a new spam filter. UJ

Aharon, Thanks for the tip about the spyware sound sites. I’ve googled quite a few of these in the past but never thought of them as being malicious. BTW your tutorials are excellent, I’ve learned alot from them. UJ

“One of the intended markets for our products is for experienced surgeons who the night before, or even moments before, are getting a refresher on the procedure.”

I hope that experienced surgeon has either practiced the procedure on someone else before he gets to me or is current on his malpractice premiums. In any case, the largest screwup by some inept video editor is trivial in comparison.

This thread is getting awfully similar to an old episode of the Simpsons.

Thanks all for the good replies. I like the idea of the small watermarked approval file. I don’t mind if they burn their own copies as long as they don’t do it to get out of paying me for the original. UJ

another bit of info: tried saving the file as .png, and also imported by AE as layers; didn’t make a difference. A bizarre thing happened in AE when I drew a mask around a pixelated area – the jaggies and blockiness were gone! And that was without any effects added. Mode set to add. So the resolution is still there. Can’t use that though, a mask around the whole photo didn’t do anything.

Thanks for the response. I’m new to PS and am a little intimidated by scripts, but I’ll do some studying on it and see what happens. UJ
