There is no direct linkage between the Track Motion keyframe(s) and any Pan/Crop settings so there will be no “automatic” compensation, you have to set up your keyframing in Track Motion AND Pan/Crop correctly.

Andrew’s spot on. Pan/Crop directs where to move the “camera” over your media; Track Event directs where to position that media in 2D or 3D space.

  • For a quick solution, try putting Sony Levels on the master video bus. Use the preset Computer RGB to Studio RGB. This should scale from 0-255 to 16-235.

That is just weird. I haven’t used SF in years. You’d think it would operate like Vegas or SONAR … Mute/Unmute. I used to use another app called CoolEdit2000 that had some slick features.

    Good luck with your workaround.

    Steve,
Can you export a mono wav(s) from Vegas, edit (remove nosie) in SF, import back into Vegas and re-combine?

Do you have an Audio Envelope pulled down to -Inf on the track(s) in question?

No. I’d check what Stephen mentioned; ie, changes on your system. If there aren’t any, then I’d start looking at individual media items you have used in your problem .veg.

If you know where the media is, you could:
    a. Copy your .veg
    b. Move media location (eg, change/create a new folder)
    c. Open .veg

You should get the Media not found dialog.

    d. Add one; ignore the rest.
    e. Save the .veg

Keep repeating (d) and (e) and see if you run into a problem source media file.

Do you mean using Video Composite Level with points? Adjusting the points changes the opacity level.

July 25, 2013 at 7:39 pm in reply to: Simple Vegas Script? Ripple Indicator

Looking over the Vegas API, I see no way to turn Ripple Edit On or Off. Nor is there a way to determine the Ripple Edit state. Lastly, there is no way to access the colors (Options, Preferences, Display). Given these limitations, you’ll probably have to wait for Sony to implement this feature.

You need multiple Pan/Crop keyframes on the Event.
