I’m scratching my head on an error that just came up. I’ve been work on a short film for the last year and I took a few weeks off on the edit, and when I try to open the timeline I get an error. I’m working in Vegas 10, and here is what I get:

    Problem Description
    Application Name: Vegas Pro
Application Version: Version 10.0e (Build 737)
    Problem: Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000094)
    Fault Module: C:Program Files (x86)SonyVegas Pro 10.0vegas100k.dll
    Fault Address: 0x1022476A
    Fault Offset: 0x0022476A

    Fault Process Details
    Process Path: C:Program Files (x86)SonyVegas Pro 10.0vegas100.exe
Process Version: Version 10.0e (Build 737)
    Process Description: Vegas Pro
Process Image Date: 2011-06-29 (Wed Jun 29) 19:23:38

I’ve tried uninstalling/reinstalling – Other computers with 10 and same error. It loads to 31% and then crashes and states this error. I have tried with both the 32bit and 64bit versions.

Can you help a brother out?

If you know where the media is, you could:
    a. Copy your .veg
    b. Move media location (eg, change/create a new folder)
    c. Open .veg

You should get the Media not found dialog.

    d. Add one; ignore the rest.
    e. Save the .veg

Keep repeating (d) and (e) and see if you run into a problem source media file.

Have you had this problem before?

“Unmanaged Exception” is almost always a driver issue. Have you changed any hardware or drivers since it last worked?

But, you said you tried it on another PC and got the same error? Could you be missing a third-party plugin?

No. I’d check what Stephen mentioned; ie, changes on your system. If there aren’t any, then I’d start looking at individual media items you have used in your problem .veg.

I updated my video driver. I can try undoing that, but that wouldn’t explain why it gave me the same error on another computer. I did also add a second monitor.

Here it is. It loads until 31% and then locks up.

I tried your veg file with random media from my projects and the veg file loads fine.

try splitting the project into temporary shorter projects and see if you can localize the error better.

Thanks Steve. It seems that part of the problem is the Hard drive dumped some data and I lost half the footage. It was looking for it on the network and hard drive, but wouldn’t give me a prompt until I moved the .veg file. Total bummer.

I appreciate all whole trouble shot for me. Great community here!
