What makes a cardioid a cardioid are the ports behind the capsule. Omni’s don’t have any ports behind the capsule.
A cardioid with ports behind the capsule at the end of an interference tube is a shot gun.

I like Richard’s ideas.

A countryman E6 on your cheek and maybe a camera mounted super or hyper out front.

Yes, ear buds so you can hear EVERYTHING with the camera on your shoulder. Shure makes a wide variety from $99 to $999.

I’d say Sony MDR7506, but they may bang into the side of your camera if you’re going shoulder mount.

NOah,

I just upgraded to OS X 10.95 from 10.7.5. I upgraded FCP X to 10.1.4.

Before I did the reinstall, I used Clean my mac to do a “thorough uninstall.” I did a reinstall from the backup drive last night by dragging the app from the backup folder to the main apps folder. It was a 3.x GB file. The problem still exists.

How do I tell if the components are old? Where are they? How do I get new ones?

Noah, et al,

It’s just nuts if you can’t over-ride the magnetic time line. Here I have a PPT converted to a .mov. I imported the narration done separately and now the two are stuck together.

The video has no audio the audio is not imbedded into the video. Both are entirely separate.

To do the project, I need to slice and dice the video and add still frames, clean up the audio and sync it with the video.

Guess not.

What a huge problem when you’re trying to slide audio against video to sync voice to words on a page.

Is there something to click on to stop that?

Hmm,

I trashed FCP X. Clean my Mac popped up and asked if I wanted to do a proper trash. I said yes.

When I finally found the appstore and looked under what I had bought, it said I hadn’t bought FCP X , which is a crock. I had purchased FCP X very early on and, I think updated it recently when all this started.

I went to my BU drive and drug FCP X 10.1.4 from there.

Nope still crashing. Yes, I have other than Apple effects that I use for Pro Tools, but why would FCP X complain and not load those apple plugins? How do I get them authorized?

Hey Noah,

Thanks for the helping hand.

When I try to move video the audio below it that isn’t even selected also moves with it.

These are totally separate files. The video is a converted ppt that’s an mov.

The audio is a narration. I imported them bot separately and now need to slice and dice to sync them up properly.

When I grab the video file, the audio file below it acts liked they are connected and wants to move with it.
