  • I always do it myself using QuickTime 7 Pro.
1_ Export the ProRes from FCPX Keep it as my Edit Master.
For short clips I use 1080p Photo-JPEG at 75% quality
    Sound 16bit 48Khz uncompressed.

For long ones 1080p h.264 at 25Mbps best quality settings ( two pass ).

    It works great.

What about mxf / .m2t support? being able to edit and output those formats without rewarpping or convertions, would be the best thing.

    Hi Juan,
Why the Sony XDCAM Browser only seems to export to DV NTSC 30fps. all settings are greyed out to change it to PAL.
Also, I thought it was possible to export the XDCAM timeline back to the SXS cards or as MXF-XDCAM to the hard drive, but that is greyed out too.
    Is there a workaround?

    regards,

Hi, Thanks Craig, I was using the Sony Browser app. not the Clip Browser app. ( maybe Sony could give them different names)
The funny tyhing is, It can only export to NTSC DV formats even though all the clips are 50i (PAL friendly format) in the SXS card.
Anyone has a clu on exporting to PAL?
    regards,

Hi, I’ve been trying to use your solution to downconvert using Sony Clip Browser 2, I cannot find this “export” menu anywhere. Im on a Mac Intel, Is it a windows function only?
I still don’t understand why Sony didn’t add a downconvert via Firewire, I feel like going back to the Z1.We have solutions in the studio but we.need to create tapes in the field,

    April 9, 2008 at 11:47 am in reply to: 1080i25? is it 25i or 50i or 25p

BBC calls it 1080i25, as it is 25 frames per second, no-one calls NTSC as 60i or PAL 50i, and some cameras can actually shoot at 50p, what would they call it?. so it makes sense.
