Use grunge fonts:
https://www.1001fonts.com/grunge-fonts.htmlUse regular fonts with Roughen Edges and maybe some Fractal Noise

hand roto the shape, comp the layer on top of itself, adjust Levels or Curves and feather edge. That would be my way of going about it.

3d objects to use in AE is a broad subject – be more specific. You use C4D in AE, Element3d, Zaxwerks or other?

November 10, 2015 at 10:27 am in reply to: Text transparency on a solid layer with a video backgroundSimple setup with 3 layers:
Bottom layer is the video
Middle layer is the solid
Top layer is your Text layer.
Use Track Matte (inverted) on the Solid layer and you got your transparent text on solid background.
For the use of Track Matte please consult the Adobe After Effects help.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

November 5, 2015 at 12:29 pm in reply to: 3D Layer is literally hiding half the layers above itIn 3d space you have to account for the actual position of the layers and not just the order in the layer stack. Your products are too low on the Y axis. You either need to lower the floor or bring the products up. For best positioning use the Front and Side views.

November 2, 2015 at 1:35 pm in reply to: is Mac really better than PC for Designing?Computers are tools – you can get different quality of tools, true, but all brands have better quality and some cheap stuff. Once you go with the top of the line though the only difference is the user.
Add agencies and design firms buy mac’s because it’s good advertising for them. It fits the image, creates instant credibility and brings in clients. A good designer can produce the same work on a PC as well as on a Mac. I used to be an all Mac guy until I figured out that I can get a much better machine for less money if I buy a PC. So I kept the Mac in front for presentations to the clients and did the work on PC workstations. Now I don’t even bother with Macs – I still think they’re nice but for motion graphics work and other video work I would choose a PC any day.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

For realistic fire you need to use stock footage or create your own- although if you do not have experience with this I would not recommend doing this alone. Get a firefighter to help.
The other issue in making this realistic is the light reflections- hard to create that in post.
However if you’re going for all AE here’s a search you can do:https://lmgtfy.com/?q=add+fire+in+post+tutorial+after+effects
