  • I’m confused by this, since I have the same problem. That tutorial by Andrew Kramer is another great one! But it also shows him demonstrating making an environment layer as a background, no other layers but a camera, and the environment is instantly visible. Ours disappears.

(I know he goes on to demo a great alternative later, but you have to use Element 3D)

Does HDR have something to do with it?

Thanks Dewayne. I’m beginning to wonder and do feel a bit alone. Zaxwerks has always been super attentive and responsive. Now it’s crickets. I’m a little worried about their status.

Thanks for the idea! I’m rummaging around for a compressor that will see these old DVCPro files (2004), but I’m having a little difficulty.

June 8, 2012 at 3:44 pm in reply to: Avid 6 into AE CS6

I “fixed” this issue by checking the “Transcode Video To” box in the Avid Export using “AAF” and set it to 1:1 MXF. This solved the problem. But I don’t really know what the consequences will be down the line. I suspect it’s a slower export for one. Have I added/created new media? I’m not even sure what questions to ask, since I’m new to the MXF formats. But at least it’s working. Thanks to those who responded. If you have any warnings, I’d love to hear them!

    Thanks Joe!
Do you like the OWC because it’s more reasonable? I think the specs are close.

No resolution yet! They did suggest installing to the desktop and transfering the files manually, to the plug-in folders. Haven’t tried that yet. Littlle faith in this prospect though.

Thank you for your response. I downloaded it only 2 days ago. It did have the ability to target CS4, so I guess it’s the latest download – and that’s not the problem. Thanks again.

January 16, 2008 at 7:28 pm in reply to: dvd render is ‘wavy’

I’ve experienced the wavy phenomena as well. For me, it happened when I converted from Lossless to Apple ProRes HQ, which changed the width of my picture from 720 to 729. That maybe fixable, but I did something else rather than try to fix it – so I don’t know. The wavy thing happened in the same area though, just on the moving masks. Maybe not the same issue, and certainly not a solution, but thought I’d mention it.

Thank you for confirming that. I can quit worrying about “missing something” – or that I was doing something wrong!
