I have inquired about placing an ad and am waiting for feedback from

Adrienne has a product ‘AEC-BOX-2’ http://www.adrielec.com that lets ‘capture now’
also get the time code as if there were a VTR present. This BOX reads LTC
and translates into an RS422 “virtual vtr” serial interface that makes
FCP (via an AJA or other board with RS422) think a deck is connected
even though it is live (capture now). This solution may not work the same
for firewire cameras as it does for SDI output cameras/live feeds.
