I use a lot of slo mo for action sport videos and here’s what works. Use FCP change the speek to whatever you want. UNCHECK the Frame Blending option. Then apply the deinterlace filter to reduce the strobing. This give very good looking slo mo for action sports stuff. Is just as good as twixtor. Don’t know about the others. some of the programs that “create” intermediate frames don’t really do that good of a job when there are lots of pixels that move in the shot, as is the case in action sports. the might work very well in a slo mo of somebody walking down the street or eating a chicken wing.

Could someone tell me WHY you’d use a deck versus using a cheap camcorder? I use my 6-year old sony miniDV to capture and export. If all I’m doing is miniDV, why would I spend $3000 for a deck?

I tried adding a parameter to the Blur Fade out, tracking, this makes the letters move away from the word. I’m gettng closer. However, it more looks like the words turn into smoke and then get blown away. I need dust, not smoke.

The wind isn’t actually a text behavior. It’s a parameter behavior and it just makes the whole word move in a direction, similar to throw.

    What about LiveType?

Very simple, but very cool. Thanks. Even though I didn’t post the question, I still learned.

I didn’t notice an AVI export option. But I’ve got a dual2.0 G5 with 2 GB ram and it runs “ok” until you start laying several things. I’ve only got 64MB video ram and I think if I jumped to 128 it’d be a lot better. If I was going to run Motion a lot I’d also upgrade to 4GB ram.

There is no particle generator. There is a Library group called Particle Emitters. But that actually creates objects on the screen, it isn’t a behavoir. C’mon, doesn’t somebody know this answer? I found a Blur Fade Out that will almost do what I want it to. As each letter is bluring and fading out, I’d also like it to sort of disperse and scatter away from the word it just came from.
