Not sure if PP even imports ALE files but that’s how you merge new metadata with existing clips in Avid.
Maybe ask in the SDK forum in Adobe site?

Mono Sound Field | Air Stereo Width – is still there (2018.12.1) and works as advertised – set width to 0%.

I think I’ve previously used ‘stereo width’ as an RTAS on mono tracks to achieve what you are trying to accomplish. I also think it fell off the list, for mono tracks, in the transition to AAX. (Quite likely I’m misremembering all of that though)
Nowadays I just work with all mono centre panned but it can get messy if working with editors who haven’t embraced stereo tracks.
Maybe go and make a feature request at community.avid.com? Be a good addition to channel strip which is a great one stop shop for trim/phase/eq/compression

Sounds like your output is unbalanced. How are the headphones fed (via IO, direct out from computer, via amp etc)?

As Oliver says, the xml contains the info to link & beware changing frame rates via interpret footage.
The colorist *may* want reels for c mode sorting – but they can handle that themselves in Resolve

When we had to do this for hours of sourcefootage in multiple languages, we had timecoded translations and used an app that generated subtitles from the translations that were timed based on a word count from each timecode reference.
More timecodes in the translations increased accuracy of the subs
The app generated PNG files for us but could also export other formats to import as PPro or Avid subtitles.
Apps used: video toolsheds ‘make transcriber files’ (for BITC audio for transcription/translation and ‘Subbits’ for the subtitle generation.

Avid’s Nexis is a good option for shared storage – not super expensive any more.
As an editor I’d always rather use Avid in shared environments though (TBH I’m pretty much back on Avid mostly, now they’ve got linked media and editable groups). -
Oh I’m old school Avid too & there’s probably loads of other ways of doing this in Fusion
I’ve found that you can switch which mask channels are used in the merge tool too – ‘Settings’ tab and change channel to ‘Luminance’ use Low & high for clip/gain.
