Just re-save your changed source file in the application you created it in (photoshop, illustrator) and then reload the changed layer inside your after effects comp

  • I’m not sure I completely understand the problem but if I understand correctly the solution could be as simple as this – you could duplicate your layer pre-effects – then apply the effects separatly to each layer – or another solution would be to render a .mov with the drizzle effect applied , then import the mov and apply the wave warp – hope that helps

  • Thank you so much Dave and Chuck – I appreciate the feedback – what I’m going to attempt is 1 option and like you said , reshooting is another (although very costly) option – i should know after a few hours whether or not I can pull this off – again, your responses are much appreciated –

    Hello –
I’m reasonably new to this industry but i have done a couple HD projects and as far as I understand the only difference between HD and SD is pixel dimensions – whereas typically you might work in a 720×486 (D1) workspace – HD comes in 2 formats – 720p (1280×720) and 1080i (1920×1080) – these are actually presets in your comp setup window, so yes you can do HD graphics – the only difference is greater render times –
    Hope this helps,
    Travis
