wow thanks for all the tips, everyone, i’ll take a look and see what works best for my needs, starting with the motion favorites. the majority of our screens are now in HD formats from 360 and PS3 so they will be similar size. obviously though flexibility there might be useful, i’ll also look at the plugins.
we don’t do many “slideshows” the use of the images is as b roll to hide cuts.

So there is no way to change how many audio tracks are in the capture? It starts to get unwieldy and i need to delete tracks as I go. each subsequent trimmed clip i add to the timeline adds to the total number of tracks and makes my timeline crazy big with audio.

As a matter of fact, I cannot change the number of clips, from 16.

I’m a big fan of the Macbook Pro. About to get one myself. I used one while working for a client and had XP with premiere on it as well as OSX with FCP. It was awesome.

I actually uninstalled the microsoft intellipoint 6.1 software and that seemed to do the trick.

I was able to get a screenshot. Please pay attention to the extra dotted vertical line and the extra one pixel horizontal line kindof wedged into the UI under the menu bar and over the tool bar.
It flashes in for just a second and then bumps everything down and right. THen it bumps back up to the left when it dissappears. FRUSTRATING.

Thanks for the help. I don’t want to use camtasia, just because of the monster file it would be if I jacked the framerate up to a rate fast enough to catch that movement.
I’ll get with Adobe.

I don’t think i have nearly the skills to catch that in motion. It’s just a little bar a few pixels wide, that pops in for a split second. I don’t have the reflexes. I could maybe make a mockup in photoshop, but here’s a detailed description.
At the top of the UI, underneath the menu bar, there is a tab for projects, etc, in the normal layout. Right above this tab, a tiny line is drawn for a moment, adjusting the ui down and to the right by 3 pixels or so, then it goes away, and the ui redraws back to the upper left.
I have no idea how to capture that fast enough.
