Thanks for the reply, since this is the FCP X forum, I think you might have a better change of a response in the Motion forum.

I’m not a heavy Motion user, but in my experience a 7 minute Motion project is quite long. Motion is a compositor and not an editor per say. So you might be hitting the ceiling on length of the project.

Flicker? Are you viewing this on an interlaced display? Typically that is the only way to truly see “flicker”.

Can you clarify what you mean by flicker? Also Let us know a little bit more about your workflow. Video format, etc.

If this really is related to interlaced flicker then you are right, use the Gaussian Blur filter. It has separate horiztonal & vertical controls. If you’re really new to FCP X, open the effects browser which or command-5, and then look on the left side of that pane under blur. Or you can type in the search field at the bottom of the pane, “Gaussian’. Then drag it onto a clip. Or select a clip and double click to apply.

Just to clarify, are you using Motion or FCP X? What is the resolution of your project? How long is your project?

Nothing that I know of, but folks are making FCP X effects all the time. Perhaps now that you have suggested it someone could build it. The “Captain Blowout Fixer” seems like a simple filter to build in Motion. However, Motion 5 no longer has a Channel Swap filter, so it makes it a little difficult.

However, before you dive into the need for other filters, how familiar are you with the color correction in FCP X? If you are new to the app, I would recommend you check out Denver Riddle’s tutorials here:

    https://www.colorgradingcentral.com/

Or you can watch them directly on Vimeo:

Perhaps you could post some examples of before/after of blowouts you have fixed in FCP 7 with these filters and we could recommend so ways to solve your issue.

Fantastic news. Glad to hear it. I’ll make a tutorial for youtube in the next few days showing how to do this reconnect.

Ahh. The extension on the STL file must be .txt.

My bad, apparently a bad XML file on my end. So it chooses and XML file and I assign a role (very cool BTW) but it won’t let me select my STL.

Coincidently I have a need for this on a current project. I have my STL file but when I open stl2FCPX and choose convert it is asking for a FCPXML file (I was thinking it would ask for a stl file). So I point it to a FCPXML and it says it is unreadable.

    Thoughts?
