FCPX Motion – which Mac is recommended
I am currently using a new iMac 27″ fully loaded w/16 mb ram but yet after a 10 -15 minutes of use the computer slows down to a craw way to often. I do alot of kinetic writing projects that use a lot of text & fonts – could that be the reason. What is the optimum mac for motion projects? IUs there a lomit to how long a project can be in motion?

Just to clarify, are you using Motion or FCP X? What is the resolution of your project? How long is your project?

I am using the new version of Motion “5”, which is part of the FCPX famly. The size of the projects need to be 1280×720 resolution @ 25 frames per second, and are between 6 & 7 minutes

Thanks for the reply, since this is the FCP X forum, I think you might have a better change of a response in the Motion forum.
I’m not a heavy Motion user, but in my experience a 7 minute Motion project is quite long. Motion is a compositor and not an editor per say. So you might be hitting the ceiling on length of the project.
