March 10, 2013 at 2:15 pm in reply to: Mac Pro 2,1 Working incredible well with Resolve 8.0 GTX285,GT120 comboWith optimized playback I get 16 fps but that’s nowhere near the perfect realtime I get without the decklink installed…
update: when I move the decklink to slot 2 (x1) I get realtime playback but the image on the monitor is part green…
Then I used Expansion slot utility to change to
slot 1 x8 (GTX570)
slot 2 x8 (decklink)
slot 3 x4 (gt120)The image on the monitor is perfect now but playback speed is 12fps.
It must be all about PCI speed, that’s the only thing I can think of…
Any idea’s anyone? -

March 10, 2013 at 9:36 am in reply to: Mac Pro 2,1 Working incredible well with Resolve 8.0 GTX285,GT120 comboI have resolve 9.1 playing realtime Prores 1080 on my Mac Pro 2.1
with this config:
slot 1 x16 : GTX570
slot 3 x4 : GT120The problem is when I add my Decklink card to slot 4 (x4)
playback in resolve drops to 7fps…Any ideas on how to fix it?
Could it be it takes too much power? -
I got an even better tip from Matt from Boris support:
you may want to use the BCC bright – contrast filter and use the pixel chooser parameters to isolate the area you want to effect.
Everything I wanted to do is possible with this effect,
even the gradient.
This is really fantastic! Thanks Matt! -
That’s the trick I was looking for…
Again a different approach than Avid, but it makes perfect sense.
Thank you. -
After installing the latest update today,
it seems like it’s working now…
Can anyone comfirm please? -
I’m also having problems with this in FCP. I’m used to the Timewarp effect in avid which is very straightforward and allows very accurate speed changes. Don’t get me wrong I really love FCP but the variable speed effect drives me crazy. I cannot even see in the motion tab at which speed a part of the clip is playing. I’ve been looking for a plugin but I cannot find anything that’s easy and fast. Twixtor is no doubt very high quality but I don’t like the slow rendering and high pricing.
Any tips or help are appreciated. -

February 12, 2008 at 4:52 pm in reply to: FCP6 on Leopard – DCDP and keyboard problemsI just installed Leopard update 10.5.2, but the problem is still there…
Actually all the bugs are still there:
– export using compressor from FCP : Final cut pro generated an error!
– option Digital Cinema desktop preview disapeared.
– Keyboard layout disapeares. If you have the same problems as I do, maybe we can compare hardware to see what we have in common that could be causing this problem.
I use a Mac Pro 8-core 3Ghz, XT1900, Aja Kona Lhe…

February 11, 2008 at 8:44 pm in reply to: FCP6 on Leopard – DCDP and keyboard problemsI just tried it, I used a DesktopVideoOut.component file from an old Tiger backup, but nothing has changed. I tried reinstalling everything and noticed Digital Cinema Desktop Preview was working fine untill I installed the AJA Kona driver. Afterwards the option Digital Cinema Desktop Preview and the one with “full screen” have disapeared. Only the one with “main” is left.
So it must have something to do with the Aja driver… -
I’m having exactly the same problem, I even formatted/reinstalled. everything, did all the upgrades, but the problem is still there…
