Odd, I have never noticed a slow down. I guess since in this case there is no scaling then turning off continuously rasterize would elevate any “extra” burned on the computer.
Anyways still doesn’t answer all the other “whys”.

Hmm, how far back do I go?
First why save an ai file as psd?
Second both have alpha so why any traveling mattes?
The matte can be any color.
If you want a outline put it in the ai file and it will be there in AE.
A totally different way to do it would be…
On a new layer make a mask the correct oval shape as one side of the convection.
Add text (arrows) to the layer and have it follow the mask.
animate as you see fit.
Duplicate and flip (-X scale).TonyTony

Check out this link.
https://www.pistolerapost.com/tech/2strip.htmlI was thinking about asking Patrick about making this available in Motion so you might see if he would make a plugin that is compatible for both AE and motion.

Media Convergence Confusion (echo echo echo).
Why would a MoGraph/Vfx artist want to work in a still photography app?
If want to do it the long way go a head, but you might get by with having to draw around the person as little as 3 to 4 times in AE using a mask and animating it over TIME (echo echo echo).
Best Regards,

Books – Keep reading ones about the specific tools you use but also look into some general concept ones and ones that look at examples of others work.
Here are three books I’ve read
Motion Graphic Design and Fine Art Animation: Principles and Practice
On Screen In Time: Transitions in Motion Graphic Design for Film, TV and New Media
Type in Motion (there is a version 2 out now)Web – This site is a great place to check every couple of days for info and new pieces coming out as well as having an extensive list of of websites to look at. https://www.motionographer.com/
TV – I prefer the free kind but if you must there are lots of things to see on the other kind as well.
If you want to do something “truly inspired” as they say look outside of the books about the tools or other peoples work and look around at the landscape, urban or otherwise, people, other art forms maybe start doing some other form of artist expression as a hobby. This will give you a chance to look at the Mograph work in a new way.

I’ve use AE for years (maybe too many) and have just now started to use Motion. For 90% of your standard Mograph stuff Motion is great. Lots of things that help you fiddle around and come up with something or quickly get down to something strait forward. The connection to FCP is nice as well. You might find that you’ll be using both. There are a number of things AE can do “better” then Motion (at least right out of the box). Keying, Tracking, 2.5D all the VFX and Compositing kind of things are (to me) easier in AE.
Keep this in mind. Mac Pro > Intel Chips > Universal Binary. Adobe nada. You will be running Adobe apps in an emulation layer (Rosetta) so, if your use to a fast computer (windows or Mac), this will be frustrating.
Also get the video card upgrade (radon X19 T something) this is what will make Motion really run well.

Should I bother asking why not just use keyframes?
