Don’t sell FCPX short. I use all three…Avid, Adobe, and Apple (X and 7) and have really enjoyed using X! Most of the missing stuff has been restored, and the people you see dismissing it mostly haven’t given it a fair shake. Especially since its recent updates. Plenty of pros I know have tried it and have admitted it’s pretty awesome. Not an Avid replacement, for those who are in the Avid world, but something they’ve starteded using for Promos and Commercials more and more. As have I. Just my two cents.

Even though FCP 7 has been EOL’d, it’s still illegal to torrent the app. This is a professional (well, sometimes we may not act like it ) forum so it’s not a good idea to tell us that you’ve stolen the software.
Just sayin

Just make sure that you select the clip, and the transition(s) before you move em. Also, if yiur clip is on top of the main storyline, when you apply a transition, it makes the clip into a secondary storyline. You’ll have a new bubble around it that has a darker grey “shelf” above it. If you click on that shelf, it’ll select everything in the storyline. Including the transitions. Then you can drag it, or use the comma and period keys to nudge it back and forth.
FWIW, I’ve been using it for TV ads and just put a :30 gap clip in the primary, then attach everything to that. That way I can set that gap clip exactly how long the piece needs to be and it works out great!

Thanks! It really works great and has saved me time in the past. They have an iPhone app as well.

Have you tried just key framing the opacity of the logo from 100% to 0% over the time you want it to fade?
Easiest way when you just want a fade in or out.

That could be any number of color correction software and or plugins. I will tell you that they probably used a very good cam (Red, Arri, etc) and lighting during the shoot. Start with great footage and the rest will come along much easier!

Haven’t used video copilot’s version (and I love Andrew’s AE products) but I really like mFlare! Got it when it was 50% off a while back and use it all the time. Oh, it even works in Photoshop. In FCP X and Motion 5, it’s awesome and has a ton of controls. If you use X and 5, it’s a great addition.
