mFlare plugin, anyone used it?
Posted by Jeremy Garchow on March 12, 2013 at 10:53 pmI am deciding between that or Video Copilot optical flares for Ae.
Does anyone have experience with it?

March 13, 2013 at 12:13 amI like it and use it quite often. it’s a bit cheaper than optical flares and the plugin works not only in AE, but also in Premiere, Motion, Final Cut, Photoshop and Pixelmator. Though I only used it in Motion and FCPX, I don’t know how it performs in the other apps.
here are some tutorials: https://www.motionvfx.com/mtuts,category-1.html
yesterday I got a newsletter from motionVFX with a 20% off promo code, so if you want to buy it use the code: “March”. -

March 13, 2013 at 12:55 amHaven’t used video copilot’s version (and I love Andrew’s AE products) but I really like mFlare! Got it when it was 50% off a while back and use it all the time. Oh, it even works in Photoshop. In FCP X and Motion 5, it’s awesome and has a ton of controls. If you use X and 5, it’s a great addition.

March 13, 2013 at 1:54 amThanks, guys.
I have a super specific need for it for this particular project.
Since this is my first broadcast gig in fcpx, I might as well keep going with an X plugin, right?
Cheers and I appreciate the responses,
Jeremy

March 14, 2013 at 12:39 amFor everything I have done with Optical Flares (the Video Copilot flare plugin) I have done the same thing in the mFlare plugin. I would say that if you want something that works in FCPX and Motion as well then dive in. It really is a quality plugin.

I don’t think I’ve had this much fun with a plugin.
Thanks for the info.
The quality is certainly exceptional.

March 15, 2013 at 7:59 amIt looks nice not as organic as the Optical Flare from Videocopilo and it will slow down your Machine when using or applying it.
