You might also look at AppZapper, which I haven’t tried…and costs money…but I’ve heard it works well. I use AppCleaner and it’s free! I have no complaints on that one. It’ll go and find all the little bits and ask you I’d you wanna delete em. Preference files and all that stuff. Here’s a link to it: https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/25276/appcleaner

I second the Stock 20 site suggestion! Great stuff and when he adds new stuff, he’ll let you pay another 10 bux and have access to the new stuff. He usually has a sale around ths time of year.
Digital Juice is great as well. Music box is multitrack and you can remove tracks from the final mix so they are infinitely fresh. Musicbox 2 is on retirement sale for $99 right now!
And there’s footage firm who are selling a bunch of music discs fr only 8.89 shipping and handling on each. Thier stuff is ok. I have a couple of em.

Check out Red Giant – Magic Bullet Frames. It’ll convert your 60i footage to 24p but it can take a long time sometimes!

December 2, 2011 at 4:38 pm in reply to: Adobe Tech Help – CS 5.5 crashing me MacBook Pro!I know, right? FCP X has some interesting things and it’s not bad for some kinda cool things but I haven’t used it for anything real and don’t see it happening anytime soon. But hey, I’m going to learn all of them that I can now.
Anyway, this started about two weeks ago and I’m pretty sure it was right after I did a CS 5.5 update after opening an app and being told it was available.
That’s the only thing I’ve updated lately besides Safari, and maybe iTunes.
BTW…sorry about all the typos in my posts recently…I’ve been using iPhone/iPad and well, that does happen! 🙂

December 2, 2011 at 12:31 pm in reply to: Adobe Tech Help…CS 5.5 crashing new MacBook Pro!I should note that the MBP is on Snow Leopard (bought it to summer and haven’t used it for much else besides testing software) and has very little installed on it besides Production Premium, Avid 5.5, and FCP X (yea…I know, but I had to try it out and that’s why I git this machine).

I’d love to know the solution that fixed this! I’m actually running cs 5.5 on a new MacBook Pro and It was working fine. Now, all of a sudden, whenever I use AE, PS, and Premiere, then quit the program, it crashes my machine to a light blue screen and becomes unresponsive. I then have to force close it by doing cmd-opt-ctrl-delete and then it’ll shut down. Now, sometimes it won’t happen with photoshop but lately it’s almost every time with PR and AE.
Any help?

December 1, 2011 at 12:36 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas to FCP legacy – what should I have them give me?I’ve actually got an old version of Episode but I’m not sure how that’s gonna help (also have Adobe Media Encoder, etc, etc). I’m a bit of a tech geek with the software so I’m loaded for bear on that front. But the problem is on his end. Using PC, Sony Vegas, and Combustion, he can’t really output what I desire…being Prores in any flavor but Proxy…so I’m kinda stuck. I could have him give me DVCPRO HD as most all NLE systems have that codec, but that is 720p and the footage I’ll be working with will most likely be 1080i. Some will be 1080p from GoPro cams but that’s beside the point 🙂
I guess the best thing for me to do at this point is to have him output 1080 h.264 files and I’ll go ahead and transcode to Prores. Well, that’ll work for the open and close but I think he’s got lower thirds as well. Maybe he can give me those in animation codec.Tony Brittan

November 30, 2011 at 5:50 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas to FCP legacy – what should I have them give me?Well, that would be the obvious answer and one that I would love for him to be able to do, but he can’t do that. Prores isn’t available to him on the PC.
