To tell you the truth, I’m really not sure.

In C4D I have my output set to:
    Preset: NTSC DV Widescreen
    720 x 480

    Film Aspect: 1.8
    Pixel Aspect: 1.2 – D1/DV NTSC Widescreen (1.2)
    Frame Rate: 29.97

It doesn’t look like I have anything set to square pixels.

    Thanks for your reply Randy.

I already tried your suggestion about simulating it past the initial fall and then setting that as the initial state. The object still starts off as though there are forces effecting it before it comes to rest again.

Thanks for your help Adam, I think I’ve got it now.

I do have another question I can’t seem to find an answer to in the help system.

In my current animation, this “bag” object I have set with a Cloth simulation… when the animation begins, the bag begins bouncing slightly. I tried playing around with all the settings in the Cloth tag, set bounce to 0% and such, no luck. The only thing that seems to have the effect I’m looking for is the “Relax” button, however, this then seems to take away all the other desired effects of the bag interacting with colliders and such.

Do I use the cloth>belt tag in addition to the cloth simulation tag?

May 16, 2012 at 3:57 pm in reply to: Location of FXFactory Plugins

Thats not exactly what I was asking, however, I discovered the answer on my own.

I wanted to know how to move the FXFactory Plugins to my new installation of AfterEffects CS6 without having to re-install FXFactory. Since the plugins are not in the AfterEffects Plugins Folder, I figured they had to be elsewhere.

You need to goto the library at root level, not user level.

To get there, select your Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Common>Plugins>CS5.5 (or CS5) >Mediacore>

Move or Copy the FXfactory.plugin and ImporterFxFactory.bundle from the CS5.5 Mediacore folder to the CS6 media core folder.

    That should be it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the crumple with the set point value and it didn’t do exactly what I was looking for, but was definitely good enough for what I needed.

    Thanks.

As with everything, there are a few ways to accomplish what you’re looking to do here. One way is to combine your splines, the outline of your cassette and the holes, into a single spline and then extrude that.

To do that, select the splines you want to combine (The outline of the Cassette and the Hole/s) then Right Click one of the selected Splines in the Object Manager and go down to: Connect Objects + Delete.

This will combine your Splines into a single Spline which you can then extrude.

Another way would be to extrude the objects separately and then use a Boole Object to Subtract the Holes from the Cassette.
