I emailed Maxon about it and they suggested the same thing, trashing prefs etc.. they also said to try their own “force-quit” if it locks up. Theirs is holding both Shift keys and hit Del. If it works, it will generate a crash log at least.

I also tried turning off Open GL in the prefs, quitting and then turning it back on.. I haven’t had the issue return since trying that. Doing a similar thing fixed my Photoshop issues I had been having with Mavericks.

Brian, thank you very much for your help! Especially for posting the file… not sure I would have been able to figure it out from your explanation. 🙂

I’m using standard XPresso nodes, I don’t know the first thing about python.

I have it setup as per one of your suggestions:

    Math Multiply (10) – Universal (Integer) – Math Divide (10) – Text

Is there a way to also have it display a .0 when its not .1-.9? and/or add a “degree” symbol at the end?

The problem is, this is to show the degree of rotation of an object, and I have the object stopping at different points which sometimes have a .5 and sometimes nothing at all, so if I were to add the degree symbol as a different text object, I would have to have it move closet to the number when theres not a decimal after it.

    Thanks again!

I’m running Mavericks and C4D R15…. I would STRONGLY advise against “upgrading” to Mavericks.
I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue step-by-step, but so far have had my MacPro 2012 completely freeze up several times, and its been while using C4D. Each time has been while opening a file from the Finder, the computer has completely locked up… clock stops moving, only thing movable is mouse for some reason. Its making me feel like I’m back in OS9!

    Adam,

Thanks for your file, I haven’t quite figured out how it works, but it looks nice. Also not sure how to reset it to the beginning.

I’ve uploaded an updated version of what I was working on just to show you what the cubeside2 is for. Its basically to make it appear as though its printing bi-directionally. My setup works, but I was hoping to somehow build it all into an Xpresso setup without having to animate separate sliders.

I can’t figure out how to step the cubesides up by 10% or any % each time the main object reaches its max left/right distance. Is there a way to setup an xpresso chain where it adds a set distance when another object reaches a specified location?

    Adam,

As always, thanks VERY much for your help. While your solution is certainly simpler than what I have in the works, unfortunately, it won’t accomplish what I’m going for.

If you take a look at the file I attached to my post, you should be able to see what I mean.

I have my object moving right/left repeat, within a boolean to reveal a logo. Each time my moving object reaches the farmost left/right point (increment of 50% on the slider), I want the Posemorph to increase by a 10% step, first on the “Cube-Side 1” when the moving object reaches the Right, then “Cube-Side 2” when it reaches the right.. and so on.

In that way, the printhead (which I haven’t modeled yet) will appear to be “printing” the logo as it moves both right and left.
