I have experience with Tricaster, the main issues are delay and lack of professional controls. There is 6-7 frames of video delay which is huge when projecting an image.
I would recommend Broadcast Pix (www.broadcastpix.com). It is an entire control room in a workstation, digital switcher, built-in graphics, built-in clipstore, still store, custom multi-view, SD/HD and more.
There are 4 models ranging in price start at under $10,000. -
I too am having the audio drift out of sync.
I am using the AJ-D250 decks, via firewire, connected to various Macs (g4/g5) and all are having the issues.
I have the current version of FCP 5.04 and still the audio is out of sync.
I am noticing that about every 5 minutes into the video the audio gets out of sync, about 5 frames. So after a long clip the audio is very drastically out of sync.Any thoughts?

Correct me if I am wrong, didn’t the NFL or MLB (or FOX) do something like that for the Superbowl or World Series a few year back?
I thought I read it on the Apple site under the pro video/film section.
I can’t find it now.
Just a thought. -
KT,
I am the Government Channel Coordinator for a City in MASS, so I and fully understand where you are coming from.
Are you a non-profit access center or has the local city/town running it.
I’d be more then happy to discuss equipment and give what I can to you.
Email me back at tonym@newtv.org and we can discuss.
Good luck.

I have this type of problem for a few years with FCP 4 and now with 5.
I will say that in 5 the losing sync is a little better.
I am capturing footage at DV25 either minidv or usually DVC-Pro.
What is happening is that after 10 minutes or so the audio starts to go out of sync, roughly 5 frames, then after another 10 minutes another 5 frames and so on. What I’ve been doing is just shifting the audio forward those 5 frames. Yes it can be a pain, but right now I have no other option.
Any ideas out there?
I’m using a range of macs with different specs all with firewire or ATA drives.–Tony

I believe I have a similar question.
I have over 200 photos that are .JPG, I need to make a sequence will all the photos having a time of 1-2 seconds. Is there a “short-cut” to do this? I already have them is a bin, since I am using them is other parts of the video.
Thanks.

Paul,
I found what your are talking about in version 6.5.2 of QuickTime, and that works fine. But, I use quicktime 7 on my main computer, and the menus are a little different, and I can not seem to find the timecode drop down menu.

Paul,
Thanks for the response, I am using QuickTime Pro 7, I believe you are referring to version 6. I tried that on another computer (with version 6) as well as version and under the Properties I can not find the actual timecode, just a counter.
Am I missing a setting/step?
