  • Panasonic AJ-D250 firewire audio problems

Does anyone else have Panasonic AJ-D250 firewire audio capture problems with FCP 5?

Ramdomly during firewire capture with a new dual G5, there is a digital spike in the audio that doesn’t exist on the tape, and the audio drifts out of sync with the video.

It only happens with our Panasonic AJ-D250 decks (all 4 of them).

These decks are only one year old. They are qualified with FCP HD, but not with FCP 5.

    Thanks,

    Richard

We have the same problem with audio problems during capture. It seems to drop a frame of audio every so often. No pattern to the problem, and if we recapture the footage it is fine. If we capture through the Cinewave system it is fine–the problem only occur via firewire. Oh, and this machine is still running FCP HD with Medea hard drives.

I’ve tried everything over the last year to find the problem without any success.

As far as audio sync goes, I’ve only noticed a problem with captures over 30 minutes.

    Anyone else with similar experiences

Try the FCP 5.04 upgrade. I had heard of some other customer that felt the problem was resolved with this last upgrade.

    Good Luck,

Do you mean that the specific Panasonic AJ-D250 firewire audio capture problem was fixed with FCP 5.04?

    Thanks,

    Richard

While the update does not directly address it, that is what my customer reported to me.

    Hope that helps,

I too am having the audio drift out of sync.
I am using the AJ-D250 decks, via firewire, connected to various Macs (g4/g5) and all are having the issues.
I have the current version of FCP 5.04 and still the audio is out of sync.
I am noticing that about every 5 minutes into the video the audio gets out of sync, about 5 frames. So after a long clip the audio is very drastically out of sync.

    Any thoughts?

I got the same problem with Panasonic AJ-D250 and Final cut pro.
Is there a solution to this problem?
