That doesn’t work for me. It only works if the clips under the playhead are selected. If aother clips not under the playhead/skimmer are selected Cmd-B does nothing.

Use the position tool, or learn to edit with a magnetic timeline. It can’t be switched off. Everything has to be connected to a continuous primary storyline.

Switch in the lower right of the timeline window lets you set the clip height.

Same place as clip height you can adjust different ways of displaying in the timeline from only waveforms to clip lozenges.

Odd that isn’t it that you can’t name them. Good feature request. You can name them if you make the compound clip in the Event Browser. Would be nice if you could rename them, maybe in the Timeline Index.

Couple of ways to do this, but basically rather than editing your clips into the primary storyline, which is fully magnetic at all times, use the connect clip function. The clips get connected to the primary storyline wherever you place them. As you connect the clips, empty gap clips are created as needed.

This seems to happen when the autosave function is not working. You might want to test to see if it is saving after you close the application and reopen it. You might try trashing the preferences, the plist files associated with it.

There is no pro version of the QT X player. However the Snow Leopard install disc comes with the QT 7 player. This should always be installed and used, not the QT X player. The QT 7 player will upgrade to the pro version when FCP is installed.

You could install FCP. I think that’s needed to trigger it, run FCP once, then use FSC Remover to delete. The QT pro functionality should remain.
